The Surry Hat features an easy to memorize garter and stocki- nette slipped/dropped stitch pattern. The overall effect is a skewed, almost optical illusion look and a pleasing subtle texture.

SIZES: Small (Medium, Large)

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: MITTS: Palm Circumference: 6½ (7¼, 8)”; Length: 8” from CO Edge to Top for All Sizes. HAT: Circumference: 19 (20½, 22)”; Length: 8” from brim to top of crown for all sizes

YARN: Harrisville Designs WATERshed (Worsted Weight); Shown in color: CHESHIRE #911 – 1 Skein for all Sizes of mitts, 2 skeins for all sizes of hat

NEEDLES: US 6 (4.0 mm) Double-pointed Needles, Set of 4 or 5; US 7 (4.5 mm) Double-pointed Needles, Set of 4 or 5

NOTIONS: Stitch Markers; Waste Yarn or Stitch Holder; Tapestry Needle

GAUGE: 20½ Sts and 32 Rows = 4” Square in Skew Pattern on Larger Needles, Lightly Blocked; 20 Sts and 28 Rows = 4” Square in Stockinette Stitch on Larger Needles, Lightly Blocked.
