Graceful lace stems end in a large blossom crown in this springy slouch hat. The lace pattern, made up of just knits, purls, simple decreases, and yarnovers, is easy to master. Floreo knits up quickly in an Aran-weight yarn.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS: Brim circumference: 19.25” / 49 cm, to fit heads from 20.5” to 23” / 52 to 58.5 cm
YARN: Madelinetosh Tosh Chunky (100% merino; 165 yds/151 m per skein); 1 skein; color Mica
Yarn substitution note: although this yarn is labeled as a chunky weight, it works up closer to an Aran weight. If substituting yarn, you will need approximately 140 yds/128 m of Aran-weight yarn.
NEEDLES: US #6/4.0 mm circular needle, 16” long; US #8/5.0 mm circular needle, 16” long; US #8/5.0 mm double-pointed needles, set of 4 or 5
NOTIONS: Yarn needle, stitch marker, head-sized bowl or plate for blocking
GAUGE: 19 sts/27 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in garter stitch on smaller needles; 17 sts/22 rows = 4 inches/10 cm in Stem Lace pattern on larger needles
SKILLS NEEDED: Working in the round, yarn over increase, basic decreases.
