Francie Scarf

Published in Hitch: Patterns Inspired by the Films of Alfred Hitchcock

This square scarf was inspired by the incomparable Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief. The diagonal lace pattern makes the piece wispy enough to be tied around the neck with very little bulk, but it is also substantial enough (and large enough) to wrap attractively around the head in one of Ms. Kelly’s preferred styles.

This lace pattern is very stretchy and expands a lot with blocking, particularly lengthwise. Make sure to knit a gauge swatch and block it in the same way you plan to block the finished piece.
